KATRA, Apr 9: Wrestler Nisar of J&K Police from Doda lifted 64th Moori Kesari 2019 title by defeating Wrestler Babba of Kot Bhawal, Jammu in a tough bout that lasted for 19 minutes at Middle School Moori, near here today.
The event was organized by Moori Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Ex. Sarpanch Romesh Chander.
Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up Wrestlers, while Wrestling promoter and BJP leader Virender Sharma, Naib Tehsildar Rashid Mohd and ASI Chajju Ram were the guests of honour. Sarpanchs Ashok Kumar and Jarnail Singh were also present on the occasion.
In all, 57 bouts were played in the one day long dangal.
The chief guest gave Rs 10,000 as cash prize money to the winner of Ist malli Pahalwan Nisar Ahmed in presence of Romesh Chander Ex. Sarpanch, Virender Sharma, Naib Tehsildar Rashid Mohd. and Chajju Ram while Rs 8,000 was given to runners-up Wrestler Babba.
The second main bout was fought between Wrestler Sumit of Panipat (Haryana) and Ajay Sharma of Udhampur. This bout was won by Sumit.
A cash prize of Rs 9,000 was given to Sumit while Rs 7,000 was given to runners-up Wrestler Ajay Sharma.
Third bout was won by Wrestler Mehar Singh of Haryana who drubbed Shootu of Jindrah, while the 4th bout was won by Muneer Khan of Nagrota who trounced Virender of Panipat (Haryana) and 5th bout was won by Bablu of Basantgarh who got the better of Ranjeet Singh of J&K Police.
