JAMMU, Mar 31: J&K Police wrestler Benia Min crushed wrestler Rimpal of Amritsar, Punjab and lifted the title trophy of the 59th Moori Kesari title organised by Moori Peer Baba Dangal Committee in association with J&K India Style Wrestling Association.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was the chief guest who distributed cash prizes among the winner and runner-up wrestlers in presence of president, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Balwan Singh, Jagdish Chander, Mohammad Sadiq and Romesh Chander, Sarpanchs, Naib Tehsildar and PA to DC Reasi Rakesh Baru, besides many other dignitaries.
Dr Choudhary and Shiv Kumar Sharma gave Rs 20,000 as cash prize money to the winner of 1st malli wrestler Benia in addition to Silver Gurj and Patta, while Rs 17,000 was given to runner-up wrestler Rimpal by Naib Tehsildar Rakesh Baru and Sarpanch Romesh Chander.
Other results: Jakker of Sarore beat Roshan Lal of Muthi, Sonu of Amritsar thrashed Murad Ali of Domana, Mohit of Haryana defeated Parhald Singh of Kalakote, Amir Khan of Jammu trounced Pardeep of Khanna, Gurjeet of Amritsar beat Bagga of Jammu, Ajay Kumar of Laden Power House Udhampur knocked Nissar of Doda, Akram of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu beat Farooq of Sarore, Kulbir Singh of Narkot defeated Rustam of Domana, Billa of Jindrah thrashed Sohan Singh of Narkot, Salman of Udhampur outplayed Sher Singh of Judda, Jamal Ali of Narkote beat Tirthu of Reasi and Rajesh Sharma of J&K Police smashed Kuldeep Singh of Ladda. The bout between Bobri of Sarore and Rana of Amritsar ended in a draw.
