JAMMU, Jan 4: JKP Senior XI and Senior Advocates XI emerged winners and entered in the next round of the ongoing JKP New Year Veteran T20 Cup at Parade Cricket ground, here today.
In the first match, JKP Sr XI defeated Aircel XI by 6 wickets and entered into next round of the tourney.
Batting first, Aircel XI scored 150 runs in stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Anand Tripathi made 41, while as Baldeep Singh and Riaz made 25 and 24 respectively.
For JKP Sr XI side, Naresh took 2 wickets, whereas Rajesh Gill, Kuldeep, Shamsher and Jagpal Sharma shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, JKP Sr XI achieved the target in 17 overs for the loss of 4 wickets and won the match by 6 wickets. Madan scored 40 runs, Rajesh Gill made 33 runs and Shishu scored 32 runs.
Rajesh Gill was declared man of the match.
In the second match, Sr Advocates XI scripted a comfortable win over Parade Sports Association XI by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Parade Sports Association XI made 124 runs in 18 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Ranjeet Bali with 40 runs and Rupinder Pal with 23 runs were the main scorers.
For Sr Advocates XI side, Sanjay, Ravi and Irfan shared 2 wickets each, whereas Guru Partap took 1 wicket.
In the second inning, Sr Advocates XI chased the target in 17 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Surinder made 35, Guru Partap scored unbeaten 29 runs and Ravi Dogra contributed 23 runs.
For Parade Sports Association XI side, Sanjay Sharma took 2 wickets and Ranjeet claimed 1 wicket.
Guru Partap was adjudged man of the match.
