JKCC registers 1 wkt win over DCC, sails to next round

JAMMU, Oct 14: Junior Khalsa Cricket Club (JKCC) registered win over Diamond Cricket Club (DCC) by one wicket in a nail biting match and sailed into the next round of the ongoing Sikh Premier League, being organized by Khalsa Club at Baba Jhulla Camp, Gole Gujral, Talab Tillo, here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, DCC set a target of 114 runs by losing 9 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Inderjeet Singh was the highest scorer with 26 runs, while Maninder chipped in 16 runs and Mahadeep scored 13 runs.
From JKCC side, Pushpinder was wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 5 wickets, while Kawalpreet took 2 wickets and Balvinder clinched one wicket.
In the second inning, JKCC chased the target for the loss of 9 wickets in 19.1 overs. Navjot made unbeaten 55 runs, while Balvinder and Jatinder scored 10 and 8 runs respectively.
From DCC side, Pawandeep, Maninder and Gurvinder scalped 2 wickets each.
Navjot Singh of JKCC was adjudged as Man of the Match.
The match was officiated by Mankaran Singh and Hardeep Singh as umpires, while Devinder Singh acted as score.
On the occasion, Dheeraj Singh was the chief guest, who awarded the winner team and asked the youth to participate in sports as its play pivotal role for the overall development of the body.
