JKCA’s 4-week Talent Hunt Camp concludes

JAMMU, July 12: The Summer-cum-Talent Hunt Coaching Camp for the probables of Ranji Trophy, Under-25,19, 16 and 14 boys and senior and Under-19 girls, organized by the Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) concluded at GGM Science College Hostel Ground and M A Stadium, here today.
The two phases of the Camp, in which around 1000 cricketers participated in the first phase and around 250 in the second phase of shortlisted players, was held under the overall observation of Vinod Sharma, former Ranji Trophy cricketer and under the overall supervision of Sudershan Mehta and Rakesh Kumar, joint secretary and vice chairman of JKCA respectively.
Meanwhile, in his message Dr Farooq Abdullah, president JKCA has lauded the efforts of the organizers of the Camp and the budding cricketers and their coaches and observers for sweating-it-out in sweltering heat and humid conditions.
The organizers said that the Camp was to be concluded in presence of the JKCA president, but due to his busy schedule, he could not attend the closing ceremony.
The organizers also distributed cheques among the coaches, assistant coaches and observers on the occasion and instructed them to be in readiness for future assignments.
Meanwhile, the reliable sources said that due to lack of money at hand, the JKCA Jammu wing could not prolong the Camp.
The Association will prepare wickets, ground and necessary infrastructure during this break.
A galaxy of coaches, JKCA working committee members and prominent cricketers were present during the concluding ceremony.
