JAMMU, July 16: To identify and nurture cricketing talent at the grassroots level, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is set to organize an Under-14 Boys Inter-School Cricket Tournament in Jammu, commencing on July 21, 2025.
The tournament will feature 25-over matches held at three different venues: Birla Open Minds School Ground, Heritage School Ground, and KC International School Ground, played simultaneously during the league phase.
A total of eight teams will compete for top honours: KC International School, Birla Open Minds School, Heritage School, GD Goenka, Jodhamal School, DPS Jammu, and JKCA Tigers. An 8-member organising committee has been formed, headed by Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations and Development. Meenu Singh Slathia (Member CAC) and Sandeep Singh (Sunny), a former cricketer, will serve as Coordinators. Other members include Vijay Dogra, Vishal Manhas, Avinash, Akash Choudhary, and Ankit, all representing participating schools.
Brigadier Anil Gupta, Member Administration JKCA, shared that the matches will be played in white clothing with red balls, and the toss will take place at 7:15 AM sharp. Super substitutes will be allowed in both innings. “The objective is to create a nursery of talent for JKCA’s junior teams,” said Mithun Manhas, expressing hope that the initiative will yield promising results.
