JAMMU, Nov 20: The Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides (JKBSG) contingent comprising 187 participants was ceremoniously flagged off today for participation in the 19th National Jamboree scheduled to be held from November 23 to 29.
The flag-off ceremony took place at Jammu Tawi Railway Station and was graced by Vinakshi Koul, (Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, Jammu) and Nasreen Khan (State Secretary-cum-Administrative Officer, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides), who jointly flagged off the contingent amidst great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
The J&K contingent will represent the Union Territory at the Grand National event, which brings together Scouts and Guides from across the country to promote the spirit of unity, discipline, adventure, and service. The 19th National Jamboree provides a platform for young Scouts and Guides to showcase their skills, leadership qualities, and commitment to community service.
Vinakshi Koul extended her best wishes to the contingent members and encouraged them to uphold the values of the movement and bring laurels to the Union Territory. Nasreen Khan appreciated the efforts of the Youth Services and Sports Department and the organizers for their coordination and support in preparing the contingent.
