JAMMU, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Boxing Association (JKABA) elected its new office bearers in a general body meeting held at Amar Singh Club, here today wherein Dr Nirmolak Singh has been appointed as president of the Association.
Anil Khajuria, Farooq Ahmed Khan and Vinay Gupta were elected as senior vice president, vice president for Kashmir division and vice president for Jammu division respectively, while Rajan Sharma and Harinder Gupta have been nominated as honorary general secretary and honorary treasurer respectively and Tanvir Ahmed and Ravinder Singh elected as joint secretaries, besides Vijay Saraf, Sarwant Singh Gill, Devinder Gupta, Nirmal Singh, Rajneesh Kumar, Naresh Kumar and Avneet Kour were the executive members of the Association.
The meeting was chaired by Professor (Dr) Ashutosh Sharma, working president of the Association, whereas Santosh Dutta from Boxing Federation of India, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal from J&K Olympic Association and Madam Musabat Ismail from J&K Sports Council were among the observers and senior Advocate Gagan Kohli was the returning officer of the election.
All the members expressed their views about the difficulties they are facing in the absence of Boxing Ring and coaches in almost all the districts of J&K except Jammu.
