JAMMU, Feb 9: The Jammu and Kashmir UT Yoga team has left for Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to participate in the 49th Senior National Yoga Sports Championship, scheduled from February 13 to 16, 2025. The team was flagged off today by Rajyogini B K Sudarshan Didi, Patron-in-Chief of the Yoga Association of J&K, along with vice president BK Ravinder Bali and Secretary General Vinod Bhatia. The flag-off ceremony was supported by Akhil Kapahi, President of the Yoga Association of J&K.
The team, which includes seven athletes (both men and women), will represent Jammu and Kashmir at the national event. The players representing J&K are Siya Suryavanshi, Rekha Devi, Meenakshi Thakur, Bhopinder and Sunil Singh. The team is being led by National Yoga Referee Mukesh Sharma from the Yoga Federation of India, while Aryaaveer Singh serves as the Manager cum Coach.
The Yoga Association of J&K expressed confidence that the athletes would perform to their best abilities, bringing honour to the UT. The event, which is a significant competition in the Yoga Sports field, will see the best yoga athletes from across the country competing for top honours.
