J&K wins bronze in NZ Sr National Softball C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 10: Jammu and Kashmir Softball team brought laurels to the State by winning bronze medal in the North Zone Senior National Softball Championship held at Senior Model Higher Secondary School ground, Sector-23, Chandigarh.
J&K defeated formidable Delhi in match for the third place by one home to zero (1-0). Rawat Singh was the star performer who displayed outstanding softball skills and held his nerves when it mattered the most. Another player, Sachin Singh made double play out, which proved to be the turning point of the match.
The first place was claimed by Chandigarh, while Punjab won the second place in the Championship.
General secretary, J&K Softball Association, C L Bhat lauded the efforts of the players for this achievement.
