JAMMU, May 16: J&K Swimming Association today conducted the selection trials for the 79th Senior National Probables (Men and Women) Open Category at Jodhamal Public School in accordance with the guidelines of the Swimming Federation of India and Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, as per handout issued.
The trials were organized under the leadership of Association President Ramandeep Singh Soodan, General Secretary Bharat Kumar Sharma and other office bearers of the association. Various swimming events were conducted during the selection process to assess the performance and capabilities of participating swimmers.
The event was formally inaugurated by Director Deep Khare and Principal Anita Arora, who encouraged the participants and appreciated the efforts of the association in promoting aquatic sports in the Union Territory.
More than 60 men and women swimmers from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including participants from the Police department, took part in the trials. The final team for the 79th Senior National Aquatic Championship will be announced shortly. The championship is scheduled to be held from June 16 to 21, 2026 at the Aquatic Complex, Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Ahmedabad, Gujarat under the aegis of the Gujarat State Aquatic Association and Swimming Federation of India.
