J&K shooter to participate in 2024 Paralympics WC at Osijek

JAMMU, May 31: Set to make the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir proud, a shooter from Anantnag district is ready to participate in the Paralympics World Cup scheduled to be held in Osijek in the month of July next year.
Coach Rajesh Kumar, from Bishnah tehsil of Jammu, who himself is an international medalist and has coached the Indian Army shooters, terming it as a proud moment, said, “My trainee Amir Ahmad Bhat has won team silver in Paralympics Shooting World Cup held at Changwon but he missed Olympic quota by one point.”
“Now-a-days, he is practicing hard to participate in the next world cup to be held at Osijek in July, 2023. He has won team bronze in the 25 m pistol event and will also be taking part in the Paralympic Asian Games and World Championship this year,” he added.
Bhat is a strong contender for the Paralympic Olympic Games 2024, Kumar said and revealed that on the basis of Korea Shooting World Cup performance, he has been selected for the next Osijek World Cup.
“We hope that he will earn a medal for the country and make the people of J&K proud with his skills and excellent performance,” said the Coach.
