J&K Police wrestler Benia lifts 1st Rustam-e-Chanderkote title

RAMBAN, May 27: J&K Police Wrestler Benia of Basantgarh defeated Wrestler Manni of Mallerkotla, Punjab and clinched “1st Rustam-e-Chanderkote title” organized by Chanderkote Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Government High School Chanderkote.
On the occasion, MLA Ramban Ashok Kumar Bhagat was the chief guest who distributed cash prize among the winner and runner-up wrestlers in presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma, president, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, DySP Sanjeev Khajuria, DySP HQ Perbeet Singh Parihar, SHO Chanderkote Rakesh Gupta, local populace and sports lovers.
Wrestler Benia was awarded with cash prize of Rs 17,000, while cash prize of Rs 14,000 was given to runner up Wrestler Manni.
A total of 32 bouts were played in the one day long dangal. The second main bout was won by Sukha of Rajasthan who defeated Bagga of Mallerkotla. Rs 6,000 was given as cash prize money to winner Wrestler Sukha while Rs 5,000 was given to runner-up Wrestler Bagga. The third bout was won by Kamljot of Khanna who defeated Bobari of Sarore. Rs 3,000 was given to Kamaljot while Rs 2,000 was given to runner-up Bobari. The fourth bout was won by Nasir Ahmed of Doda who defeated Amir Khan of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu. The fifth bout was won by Lallu of Jammu who defeated Mohd Sadiq of Domana Akhara Jammu.
