J&K Police organizing 2nd phase of Cricket tournaments shortly

Jammu, Jan 25: Jammu and Kashmir Police has time and again taken various initiatives to provide different kinds of platforms under its Civic Action Programme to promote and hone the skills of talented youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
Continuing with its endeavour Jammu and Kashmir Police has decided to organise phase wise district, range, zonal and Union Territory level cricket tournaments in J&K under its Civic Action Programme. In this regard, PHQ has sanctioned Rs 31 lakh in favour of two Zonal Police Headquarters and seven Range Level Headquarters for conducting Cricket Tournaments under the direct supervision of senior officers.
Phase 1st cricket tournament at district level has been completed wherein all 23 districts organised cricket tournaments and on the basis of performance best players will be given opportunities to perform at the range and zonal level.
In the 2nd phase of this Civic Action Programme, tournaments will be conducted at the Range level and afterwards cricket tournaments will be conducted at Zonal and UT levels in the 3rd and 4th of this programme.
At UT level, 4 cricket teams 2 each from Jammu Province and Kashmir Province will participate.
The aim of conducting cricket tournaments at different levels is to find best and talented players like best batsmen, bowlers, wicket keepers, all rounders etc. which in turn will make a team at UT level.
