JAMMU, Apr 22: Jammu and Kashmir Police and Churchill Brothers won their respective matches to move into the next round of the Ist Arun Kumar Memorial Gold Cup Football Tournament, organised by the Climrate Football Club at Mini Football Stadium, Parade, here today.
The J&K Police defeated fighting Sports Saviours 2-0. Nanjot Singh in the 27th minute and Faisal Rashid in the 46th minute of the match were the scorers from the winning side.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Churchill Brothers trounced hosts Climrate Club 5-4 via tie-breaker.
Earlier, the special guest in today’s matches, vice president of J&K Football Association, Ramesh Chander interacted with the teams and encouraged the boys. Also present were president DFA Jammu, Sheikh Mehmood and Charanjeet.
Today’s matches officiated by the technical penal including Suresh (centre), Dheeraj, Ricky, Nitika, Rocky Sharma (centre), Abishek Chandan, Dil Bahadur and Dheeraj Menia.
