JK Montessorie organizes ‘Family Fun Sports Day’

JAMMU, Dec 9: JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School organized “Family Fun Sports Day” today to faster the spirit of sportsmanship in the students.
The celebrations were held with great exuberance in the school ground.
About 300 students of both the branches of the school participated in the event.
The glittering ceremony commenced with the welcoming of the chief guest, Prof  Mohd Ayuub Sheikh Khan, School chairman and the guest of honour Rajeev Bhardwaj, manager, UCO Bank. The ceremonial torch was lighted alongwith the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra by the chief guest and the other dignitaries.
The Sports Day was declared open with the release of balloons by chief guest and other dignitaries.
Colourful display of Bhangra was presented  by the students of class 6th.
Various sports events were organized for students of class pre-nursery to class 6th which included make up race, thread the needle, sack race, skipping race, frog race, ready to school, matka race, saree race, three leg race and salad making competition. Karate events were also organized under the supervision of Gurvinder Singh Rakwal.
In makeup race and thread the needle race, Era Raina and Divya Dalpatia got 1st prize.
In matka race and saree race, Abhimanyu Sharma and Himanshika Kohli secured the 1st position.
While in salad making competition, Sharik Khan was the winner.
The students who were felicitated for the Taekwondo included Narayan Manhas winner of gold medal, Charu Gandhi, silver medal and Pratishta Talashi, winner of bronze medal in inter school Tackwondo championship.
Sanjeev Gupta, Managing Director in his address said that sports and games boost the physical standard and mental ability of the students.
The winners received medals of honour for different sports events.
Aarti Sharma, mother of Vinayak Sharma (EW) Little Millinnium and Sunil Koul father of Shruti Koul (LKG) JKMS won 1st prize.
Those present on the occasion included Rajni Gupta, Director Academics; Geeta Dixit, Vice Principal; Vandana Gupta, Coordinator and Henry Don.
