J&K Himalayan Trekking prog concludes

JAMMU, June 19: J&K Himalayan Trekking programme organized by Tawi Trekkers J&K concluded today with the last group of trekkers of MHAC School, Nagbani returning from Moungri to Jammu after a successful venture.
A total of over 200 boys and girls of MHAC School, Nagbani, Shiksha Niketan Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar, SOS Hermaan Meiner School, Gole Gujral, Sprawling Buds School, Chinore, Shining Star High School, Muthi and Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, participated in the programme.
On the concluding day of the trek of each group a lucky draw was also held and the winners, one boy and one girl of each group, were presented a gift.
The programme was organized in the beautiful, calm and serene Moungri area, in Pancheri block, Udhampur.
Besides trekking to the sacred Shiv Parvati cave and Gouri Mitti (7000 feet), the participants were also imparted practical training in rock climbing, rappelling, jummaring and other adventure activities by experts in the field. They also learnt about the bio diversity of the area during their venture.
Everester Ram Singh headed the task force committee as Field Director whereas Ram Khajuria, Secretary of the club was the Organising Secretary of the programme. Sonam Sidharth, Anil Kumar and Shashikant were the camp leaders.
