JAMMU, July 11: Leading international fencers Shreya Gupta, Rishika Khajuria and Sufiyan Wahid from J&K are leaving for Germany to represent India in 2025 FISU World University Games (WUG) from July 17 to 22, 2025.
These international players had qualified for this event on the basis of their stupendous performance in trials held at Guru Nanak Dev University.
Shreya and Sufiyan topped in their trials in Sabre and Epee category respectively whereas as Rishika stood third in her trial in Sabre category.
The fencers have also excelled in All India Inter University Fencing Championship held at Jammu University where they played for GNDU and won medals.
These fencers have already won many medals at national and international levels bringing laurels to J&K.
