J&K Bank lifts 15th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament title

JAMMU, Dec 17: J&K Bank XI defeated Shaheen Football Club by three goals to zero in the final and lifted the title trophy of the 15th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament, organised by All J&K Sports and Cultural Welfare Association under the aegis of J&K Football Association with the collaboration of J&K State Sports Council at GGM Science College ground, here today.
In the summit clash, Akif of J&K Bank netted two goals in 30th and 60th minutes, while Adnan scored the goal in the 87th minutes. Players of Shaheen Club also sweated well but could not score even a single goal.
On the valedictory function, Farooq Khan Advisor to the Lt Governor was the chief guest, whereas Yudhvir Sethi UT Vice President BJP, Anil Masoom Corporator and Shareesh Sharma Zonal Head J&K Bank were guests of honour. Rakesh Dubey ACR, SM Gill (ex-MLA and President of the Association), Chandan Dutta and Jai Dev Rajwal were also present on the occasion.
Advisor Farooq Khan along with other dignitaries awarded the winning and runner-up teams.
The main organisers of the tournament were David Masih, Yousuf Don, Waris Gill, Narinder Gupta Member Sports Council, Satpal Singh, Romesh Chander, Peter and Vijay Nikhil.
The referees for the final match were Dheeraj Meenia, Aman Sunda, Dil Bahadur and Aman Banathia, while the Physio was Mohinder Kalsi.
