VADODARA, Nov 30:
Jammu and Kashmir were 156/7 against Hyderabad’s first innings total of 328 runs at stumps on Day-2 of the 4-day Group C Ranji Trophy match, here today.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight total of 234/3, Hyderabad added another 94 runs to score a total of 328 runs. Tanmay Agarwal was the top scorer with 119 runs. For J&K, skipper Parvez Rasool was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets by conceding 63 runs in 43 overs, while Samiullah Beigh took 3 wickets and Suhail Andleeb bagged 2 wickets. Ram Dayal also took one wicket.
In reply, J&K were struggling at 156/7 at the draw of stumps today.
Samiullah Beigh was unbeaten on 28, while Ram Dayal was playing on 7 runs. Earlier, Rasool scored brilliant 70 runs off 81 balls, studded with 11 fours and one six. Ian Dev Singh and Aditya Pratap Singh chipped in with 14 runs each. For Hyderabad, M Ravi Kiran took 4 wickets.
Chhattisgarh rode on half-centuries from Amandeep Khare and Manoj Singh to take a crucial 56 runs first innings lead over Services on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group C encounter, here today.
Resuming the day at eight for no loss at the MCA’s Bandra-Kurla complex ground, Chhattisgarh were bundled out for 281 in 90.4 overs in response to 225 posted by the Services in their first innings.
Chhattisgarh skipper Abhimanyu Chauhan was cleaned by up Services pacer Sachidanand Pandey for a duck without a run being added to the overnight score.
While one down Anupam Toppo (21) was caught by keeper Nakul Verma off medium-pacer Diwesh Pathania, Ashotosh Singh, who walked at number 5, also fell cheaply on 13.
Amandeep (51 off 112 balls) made a patient half-century hitting six boundaries but eventually was sent back to the pavilion by spinner Vikas Yadav, who trapped him leg before.
Chhattisgarh were reeling at five for 159 when Khare departed when stumper Manoj came out to bat and made a quick 67 off just 65 balls with nine boundaries and two sixes to ensure the all-important first innings lead for his side.
For Services, Diwesh Pathania grabbed six wickets conceding 78 runs in 27 overs, while Vikas Yadav scalped two wicket.
