SRINAGAR, Sept 26: Superb performances of young Turks of Jhelum FC helped to register 4 goals to nil win over Qamarwari FC in the ongoing Super Division League, being played at Synthetic Turf TRC, here today.
Right from the start, Jhelum FC dominated the field and made some beautiful moves but ultimately succeeded to net goal in the 14th minute of 1st half through Rizwan. With this goal, the team maintained 1:0 goal lead till the first half. In the 2nd half Jhelum FC tried hard to double the lead and took advantage in the 42nd minute of the game, while in the 64th and 68th minute Mehraj scored two back to back goals for Jhelum FC. The opponent team tried hard but failed to get goal.
The match is being organized by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
Meanwhile, in another tournament namely ‘First Positive Kashmir Knockout Football Championship’ being played on the same ground wherein Kashmir Avengers trounced Arco FC by 4 goals to 2 and the match was decided in tie breaker.
The first half remained goalless, while in 2nd half, Turks of Arco FC tried hard to break the ice and succeeded in converting a goal through Kelvin and the opposite team levelled the score in the dying moments.
