JAMMU, Apr 7: To welcome Easter, which is scheduled to be celebrated on April 20, 2014, Jesus Motivated Group, a group of Christian families for education and growth, conducted Drawing Competition at St Peters Catholic Church Parish Hall, Prem Nagar, here today.
Fr Saijju, Incharge Priest of the Catholic Church Prem Nagar was the chief guest, who alongwith Rajesh Gill, president of the Jesus Motivated Group distributed prizes to the winners of the Competition.
85 youth of the different Churches of Jammu participated in the competition and tried their level best to convince the adjudicators to vie for the top honours.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Gill said that the basic objective of the Jesus Motivated Group is to help the youths of the community to choose the right path of life, to channelize their energy in a right direction and to motivate them to concentrate in studies for their bright future.
Fr Saijju lauded the efforts of the Jesus Motivated Group in organizing the Drawing Competition for the young boys and girls of all churches.
In Infant Category, Marryson of St Peters Catholic Church won first prize, Marita Mattoo bagged second spot and Melvin Khokher claimed third place.
In Junior Category, Pearl of Pentecostal Mission clinched first prize, Royse was declared second and Ayub Shafiq Khokher bagged the third spot.
In Senior Category, Rozer Paul Mattoo of St Peters Catholic Church bagged first prize, Sujatta Mattoo got second spot and John Paul was adjudged third.
The consolation prizes went to Sahil Khokher, Francis, Sameer Kandayara, Brettlee, Gourav and Chetna.
Raj Kumar Verma, Principal DPS Katra, Sr Bavita, Principal St Peters School, Prem Nagar, Jammu and Victor Sotra, vice president Christian Sports Organization, J&K were the adjudicators of the Competition.
Makqueen Khonza presented welcome address, while Justina Victor presented vote of thanks. The event was organized under the supervision of Rajesh Gill, president of Jesus Motivated Group, Jammu.
