JAMMU, Sept 19: On Day-2 of the Inter School District Level Athletic Meet of District Jammu for boys here at BSF Paloura gournd today, Randhir Singh of GHSS Gandhi Nagar, Tamandeep Singh of APS Miran Sahib and Jeetan Waza of BSF Paloura became the fastest athletes in 100 meters sprint in Under-19, 17 and Under-14 categories respectively.
The Meet is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu under the patronage of its Director, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was organizing secretary of the competitions.
Later on, Chanchal Kour, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu and Ashok Kumar Dogra, Principal HSS Rabta distributed the medals among the winners.
The main objective of these competitions is to select the athletes of Jammu Division for their participation in next level of the Competition Inter Division State Level.
In Discus Under-14 boys, Raman Kumar of GHS Sohanjana bagged gold, while in Discus Under-17 boys, Mukthiar Ali of HS Khairi bagged gold and in Discus Under-19 Angil Singh of SRML claimed gold.
800 meters Under-19 boys gold went to Gourav Verma of MHAC Nagbani, while in 800 meters Under-17 boys, Harish Chand of KV No-2 clinched gold and in 3000 meters Under-17 boys, Bilbeer
Singh of SRML HSS won gold and in 600 meters Under-14 boys, Suraj Kumar of KB Public won gold.
