JAMMU, June 8: Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) thrashed Samba XI by a big margin of 130 runs in the ongoing 3rd Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Memorial One-Day Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, JCC riding on a splendid batting display by Jasvinder Singh and Vivek Singh scored 205 runs in 39.4 overs. Jasvinder made 75 runs off 91 balls, which included 6 boundaries, while Vivek Singh contributed 46 runs to the total with the help of 4 boundaries. Skipper Sandeep Singh and Sidharth Magotra chipped in valuable 29 and 15 runs respectively. Salim was wrecker-in-chief for Samba Club, who scalped 5 important wickets by conceding 44 runs in his 10 overs, while Arjun and Siddant Singh claimed 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Samba XI, in reply bundled out for a meagre total of 75 runs in 27 overs, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 130 runs. Sunny Gupta and Naginder contributed 21 and 11 runs to the total respectively. For JCC, speedsters Rahil Singh and Vishwajeet Singh claimed 3 wickets each, while Deepak Dogra and Manjeet Singh bagged 2 wickets each.
