JCC drubs MIET Club by 40 runs in Patriots Cup

JAMMU, Apr 26: Jammu Cricket Club defeated MIET Cricket Club by 40 runs in the Patriots Cup 50-Over One Day Cricket Tournament, being organised by Country Cricket Club at Country Cricket Stadium, Gharota, near here.
Batting first, JCC scored 211 runs in 48.3 overs. Sandeep Singh top scored with 61 runs, while Surya Mahotra, Gaurav and Guru Partap Singh contributed 28, 24 and 16 runs to the total respectively. From MIET Club, Mehraj-ud-Din was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 important wickets, while Saket bagged 3 wickets. Shoaib Wani and Nasrullah Khan claimed one wicket each.
In reply, MIET Cricket Club managed to score 171 runs in 44.2 overs, thus lost the match by 40 runs. Faizan Mir top scored with 63 runs, while Junaid Ali, Kumal Raina and Saket contributed 27, 25 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Aman Sahrma was the pick of the bowlers from JCC, who took 4 important wickets, while Majid bagged 2 wickets. Shubham Pundir, Jatinder, Uddit and Guru Partap claimed one wicket each. Sandeep Singh was declared as the man of the match for his brilliant innings.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Game Changer Cricket Club will take on Krishna Cricket Club.
