POONCH, Nov 28: Jatt-XI lifted the title of Krishna Ghati Premier Championship League, organised by Indian Army Barasingha Battalion under the aegis of Krishna Ghati Brigade, near Line of Control in Poonch, today.
The event generated immense enthusiasm among the locals wherein eight teams from Mendhar participated. The league was conducted on a knockout basis, wherein four winning teams competed against each other in semi-finals.
The final match was played between Jatt-XI and Five Star. In the nail biting contest, Jatt-XI won the final match. For the exceptional performance with both bat and ball, Ayaz Khan of Five Star was adjudged the man of the series.
The tournament provided a perfect platform to the local youths to showcase their talent and hone their skills. On completion of the final match, a felicitation ceremony for finalists, umpiring staff and commentators was also organised.
