Jammu Stars, Younger XI register emphatic victories

JAMMU, May 17: Jammu Stars and Younger XI scripted convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing District Level Cricket Tournament of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), which is being played at different venues across the State.
The tournaments are being held under the patronage of Justice CK Prasad, Administrator JKCA, Chairmanship of Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, CEO and supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member JKCA and Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission.
At GGM Science College Hostel ground Jammu, Jammu Stars defeated Jandiyal Super Kings by 77 runs.
Batting first Jammu Stars scored a good total of 231 runs in 40 overs. Hitesh and Majid scored fabulous half-centuries, contributing 67 and 59 runs to the total respectively. Kultaran also contributed 20 runs to the total. From Jandiyal Super Kings, Sonu and Abhishek took 3 wickets each, while Suryadev claimed one.
In reply, Jandiyal Super Kings managed to score 154 runs to lose the match by 77 runs. Amit and Vishal contributed 31 runs each. From Jammu Stars, Sahil took 3 wickets, while Hitesh claimed 2. Hitesh was declared as the man of the match.
At Police lines ground, Kathua, Younger Cricket Club defeated GCC by 3 wickets.
Batting first, GCC bundled out for 80 runs in 24 overs. Atul Verma and Abhishek contributed 11 runs each. Aman and Abhi claimed 2 wickets each for Younger XI.
In reply, Younger XI scored 82/7 in 12.2 overs, thus won the match by 3 wickets. Rimpy and Raman scored 17 and 16 runs respectively. From GCC, Shivam took 4 wickets, while Nanit claimed 3 wickets.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Singh, Dayal Singh, Rahul, Jatinder Singh, Dheeraj Andotra and Sourav Sharma.
