JAMMU, Aug 19: Players drawn from various districts of Jammu Division vied today for the top honour in Inter District Division Level Competitions of Jammu and Kathua districts in various disciplines.
The competitions are being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports.
JAMMU: Madan Lal, Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Jammu today declared open competitions in the discipline of Badminton, Chess, Rope Skipping, Squay Martial Art (Boys & Girls) U/AAG at MA Stadium Indoor Complex, Jammu.
In Badminton U-14 Boys Quarter Final, Jammu beat Rajouri by 2-0 sets, Samba thrashed Kishtwar by 2-0 sets, Udhampur defeated Ramban by 2-0 sets and Poonch beat Kathua by 2-0 sets. In Badminton U-17 Boys Quarter Final, Jammu thrashed Ramban by 2-0 sets, Udhampur beat Samba by 2-0 sets and Kathua defeated Kishtwar by 2-0 sets. In Badminton U-19 Boys Quarter Final, Poonch beat Samba by 2-0 set while Kathua defeated Ramban by 2-0 sets.
In Chess U-14 Boys Semifinal, Sohan of Jammu beat Sourav of Jammu while Arrov of Kishtwar defeated Purav of Kathua. Earlier in Quarter Final matches, Sohan of Jammu beat Vinay of Kathua, Sourav of Jammu thrashed Pranav of Kathua, Arrov of Kishtwar defeated Amanjot of Jammu and Purav of Kathua beat Harpreet of Jammu.
In Squay Martial Art U-17 Boys, Lakhvinder Singh of Jammu secured 1st position in -40 Kg, Boby Pandy of Jammu bagged 1st position in -44 Kg, Jogesh Lal of Jammu excelled in -48 Kg, Gulshan Kumar of Jammu claimed 1st position in -52 Kg, Vikram Singh of Jammu got 1st position in -56 Kg, Anuj Kumar Bhagat of Jammu gained top position in -60 Kg and Pushvinder Kumar of Samba excelled in +60 Kg.
In Squay Martial Art U-14 Boys, Balvir Singh of Jammu bagged 1st position in -25 Kg, Sumit of Jammu secured 1st position in -29 Kg, Rohin Singh of Samba claimed 1st position in -37 Kg, Deepak Kumar of Samba excelled in -49 Kg and Vishal of Samba got 1st position in -45 Kg.
KATHUA: The competitions of Roll Ball for U-14 and U-17 Boys were held at DPS Rajbagh. The events were inaugurated by Incharge Principal, DPS Rajbagh, Manmita Dass Raina.
In U-17 category, District Kathua registered win over District Samba by 6-2 while in U-14 category, District Kathua thrashed District Jammu by 5-0.
