KATHUA, Sept 20: Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua organised a function in the School premises, here today.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome of the chief guest, Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua, Ramesh Chandra Kotwal along with guest of honour, PL Thappa (Chief Education Officer Kathua) by School Principal, Mili R Sumbria along with Govind Ram Sharma (Administrator) and other faculty members.
The event began with the lighting of lamps by all the venerated dignitaries, followed by the School song by the school choir group. The School Principal first thanked the dignitaries whose presence was a great source of motivation to the newly elected council of the School.
The newly appointed members of the student council were decorated with sashes and badges by the chief guest and the guest of honour. It was a day invested with a sense of pride, humility and accomplishment. This was followed by the swearing-in ceremony, led by the School Principal and an oath taken by the newly elected members of the student council.
The students took an oath to deliver their duties with utmost sincerity and zealously serve the Institution and nation with dignity, devotion and determination.
The both chief guest and guest of honour congratulated the office bearers. He also directed students to become good readers and recommended a few books to read such as “The Autobiography of a Yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda, ‘Ka” by Roberto Calasso etc that will help students to develop an ethical perspective to life and situations.
