*GHSS Garhi lifts Kho-Kho title

JAMMU, Aug 26: Inter Zonal and School Level competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports were played at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter Zonal District Level Competition in the discipline of Cricket for under-19 boys was held at GGM Science College ground. In the summit clash, Jammu Zone will lock horns with Jourian Khour Zone tomorrow.
Earlier, in the first semis, Jammu Zone defeated Satwari Zone by 5 wickets. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Satwari Zone scored 89 runs in allotted 15 overs. Nikhil, Harmohit and Harsh scored 44, 16 and 14 runs respectively. Deepak, Abhinav and Samad took 2 wickets each for Jammu Zone.
In reply, Jammu Zone chased the target in 14.2 overs by losing 5 wickets. Samad, Arab and Raj Partap made 27, 16 and 11 runs respectively. From Satwari Zone side, Sourav, Pavit and Anurag scalped one wicket each.
In the second semifinal, Jourian-Khour Zone defeated Akhnoor-Chowki Choura Zone by one wicket. Batting first, Akhnoor-Chowki Choura Zone scored paltry 44 runs by losing all wickets in 11.3 overs. Satyam was top scorer with 15 runs.
From Jourian-Khour Zone, Abhishek scalped 3 wickets, while Abhinav and Robin took 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, Jourian-Khour Zone chased the target in 11.2 overs by losing 9 wickets. Vikas and Abhishek scored 14 and 10 runs respectively.
From Akhnoor-Chowki Choura side, Aman, Sahil and Deepak scalped 3 wickets each.
UDHAMPUR: Three days District Level Inter School Tournament for under-19 boys and girls in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Wrestling concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
Kho-Kho final (boys), GHSS Garhi defeated GHSS Boys Udhampur by 10 points, whereas in Volleyball final (boys), GHSS Khoon smashed GHSS Boys Udhampur in straight two sets.
In Wrestling, Jeevan Kumar of GHSS Garhi defeated Birbal Kumar of GHSS Krimachi in 45-48 kg category, whereas in 49-52 kg, Ravi Kumar of GHSS Barolla smashed Sunil Singh of GHSS Chanunta, in 57-60 kg, Govind Ram of GHSS Garhi defeated Gushu Kumar of GHSS Krimachi, in 60-65 kg, Shakeel Mohammad of GHSS Tikri crushed Rajesh Verma of GHSS Chenani and in 65-70 kg, Sameer Khajuria Vijay of GHSS Udhampur registered win over Saddam Husssain of GHSS Udhampur.
