JAMMU, Apr 21: Jammu Division Selection Chess events started at Nek Hotel below Gummat, here today.
The events in Under-9 boys and girls, Under-7 boys and girls, Senior women and Under-19 girls were played today.
Meenal Gupta and Arushi Kotwal scored equal points and were declared joint winners in Senior women as well as Under-19 girls category.
Advik Gupta won first prize in Under-7 boys while Navya Sharma won first prize in Under-7 girls category. Lakshya Choudhary stood first in Under-9 boys age category while Ashwina Raina stood first in Under-9 Girls age category.Events in other age categories will be played as per schedule given in www.alljkchess.com.
Atul Kumar Gupta president AJKCA inaugurated the events.
The events were held under the overall supervision of Baldev Raj, vice president AJKCA.
The selected players from this event and selected players from Kashmir Division will be eligible for participation in Nationals in 2019-20.
