JAMMU, Oct 18: Jammu Challengers registered emphatic win against the Jammu Rising Stars in the “2nd Diwali Cricket Championship for Under-16 boys” and equalize the series with 2-2, being played at MA Stadium cricket ground here today.
In the fourth match of the Championship today, Jammu Challengers defeated Jammu Rising Stars by 24 runs.
Batting first, Jammu Challengers scored 150 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 25 overs. Akshit was the main scorer who made 37 runs, Sachin also made valuable 27 runs and Aditpal contributed with 22 runs to the total.
From Jammu Rising Stars, Umar took 3 wickets, Dhruv and Amit claimed 2 wickets each, while Ashim and Abay clinched 1 wicket apiece.
In reply, Jammu Rising Stars could not achieve the target and made 126 in 24.2 overs for the loss of all the wickets and thus lost the match by 24 runs. Abay made half century and Swastik Sharma scored 10 runs.
From bowling side, Aditpal was the main bowler who took 3 wickets, Sachin, Jaidev Singh and Praful scalped 2 wickets each.
Sachin was adjudged as Man of the Match.
Sandeep Manchanda and Sanju were the umpires in today’s match of the championship.
The last match of the championship will be played on October 20, said Rajesh Gill Coordinator of the event.
