JAMMU, Mar 18: Youngster Rishi Rajput from Jammu, a product of Param Football Club, who was selected by one of the best football Academies in north India, Mahilpur Football Academy, Punjab two years back, has been selected to participate in national camp in under-14 age group.
He was selected by AIFF selectors while he was representing Punjab state as a captain in u-14 nationals at New Delhi early this year.
Param FC, after identifying and nurturing him while he was still a fresher to sports, decided to push the kid to a higher level by taking him to different trials, after noticing his ability to become a good footballer. He did not disappoint at all as he was selected by West Bromwich Albion as the best footballer in his u-12 age category, after extensive three day trial at New Delhi in 2014.
The English Premier league club offered him a full one year scholarship to train under qualified European coaches. But for academic and family reasons, he could not accept the offer. And then he was taken to try at Punjab Academy trials, wherein he performed extraordinary well to get the selectors nod.
He now trains in the Punjab Academy at Mahilpur and represents Punjab at national level.  His academic expenses, diet and boarding is taken care by the Academy.
