Ishtiaq’s ton guides Gateway Srinagar to huge win

JAMMU, Jan 7: Magnificent knock of 115 runs by Ishtiaq helped Gateway Srinagar to register a huge win by 106 runs over Khanna Cricket Club Punjab to enter into the next round of the ongoing 4th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone T20 Cricket Tournament at District Sports Stadium, Kathua.
Batting first, Gateway Srinagar rode on a splendid century by Ishtiaq to score a mammoth total of 213 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Khanna CC Punjab bundled out for 107 runs to lose the match by 106 runs. Ishtiaq was presented a cash prize of Rs 1500 and a man of the match trophy by Shakti Kumar Pathak, SP Crime Jammu.
In another match, Sandhu Cricket Club Ludhiana defeated Kathua XI in a low scoring match. Batting first, Kathua XI collapsed at a meagre total of 79 runs in 14.5 overs. Prince took 4 important wickets for Sandhu Club Ludhiana.
Sandhu Club chased the target in 9 overs to register a resounding win. Prince top scored with 38 runs. For his superb all-round show, Prince was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1500 and man of the match trophy by Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua.
