* Mohan Bagan to be invited to play matches in State: Chib

BARAMULLA, July 17: A stunning goal by J&K’s Ishfaq Ahmed, former skipper of Mohan Bagan and Salgoankar footballer guided Jammu and Kashmir to win a thriller by a solitary goal, making it to clinch the goodwill football series (2-0) against the formidable side and one of the leading clubs of the country, the Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata at Degree College ground, here today.
Earlier, the players of both the teams displayed extraordinary skill, sharp reflexes, motor-ability and anticipation, resulting in goalless first half. However, in the 10th minute of the second half and the 55th minute of the match, Ishfaq made his experience to count and netted a superb goal to give his side a much needed lead which was enough to take them to victory by a solitary goal.
Minister for Youth Services and Sports RS Chib was the chief guest on the occasion, while Minister of State for R&B was the guest of honour. MLA Syed Basharat Bukhari was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chib said that the team of Mohan Bagan Club will also be invited to play football matches in the month of September, adding that the matches will be played in Jammu and Leh also. The Minister later-on distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
