JAMMU, Aug 21: An international webinar on “UN Sustainable Development Goals and COVID-19” was organized by Government Degree College Darhal in collaboration with EAST, Tamil Nadu and Attitude Change International, Darhal Malkan, Rajouri.
Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department, Parvez Talat Rohella was the chief guest of the event.
Commission Secretary talked about sustainable development goals and said: “The quality education is one of these goals and the Department of Higher Education has already taken so many initiatives for better academic growth of higher educational institutions in J&K.”
Prof Yaseen Ahmed Shah Director Colleges, Dr Ravender Kumar Ticku, Nodal Principal Jammu Division and Prof Yasmeen Ashai Nodal Principal Kashmir Division were also present.
The event started with a welcome address by Principal of GDC Darhal, Prof.Sumanesh Jasrotia.
Dr Herbert B Rosana, Full Professor of Peace and Security Studies, Bicol University, Philipines presented a key note address. Dr Mohammad Tarikul Islam Associate Professor Government and Politics, Jahangir Nagar University Bangladesh talked about sustainable development goals and COVID-19., whereas Dr Daleleer Kour Randawar Associate Professor Faculty of Law University Technologi MARA, Malaysia discussed “New Norms after COVID-19” and Dr Arulmurugan from Pondicherry University talked about “Implications in Political Life”.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr Ashaq Raza, president Attitude Change International Darhal Malkan and Dr Paramasivan chairman EAST, Tamil Nadu.
Principal of the college Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia appreciated the efforts of Dr Ahsan-ul-Rehman, Dr Imtiaz Shah and Dr Athar Raina for successfully organizing international webinar.
