JAMMU, Aug 27: The District Level Inter-Zonal competitions in the disciplines of Kabaddi and Volleyball, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as a part of Annual calendar of sports activities concluding at GHSS, Domana, here today.
The competitions were held under the supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports and Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, while Director General Youth Services and Sports, Jahangir Mir was guest of honour. Earlier, In Kabaddi Under-19 boys final, Bhalwal-Marh Zone defeated Jourian-Khour Zone by (42-31). Sandeep emerged as best raider.
The match was officiated by Ram Paul, Bua Ditta, Tilak Raj, Anubhav Dev and Ram Murti, while in Volleyball Under-19 boys final, Khour-Jourian Zone trounced Akhnoor-Chowki Choura Zone by 3-0 sets (25-23, 25-13, 25-15). Sahil and Kuldeep Singh were the star performers.
The match was officiated by Jagjit, Kulbir, Harjot Kour, Raman and Prithipal.
Speaking on the occasion, Div Com lavished praise on the participants for performing in hot and humid conditions, while addressing the gathering, Mr Mir lauded the efforts of the organizers for holding the event successfully in sweltering heat.
Earlier, Mohd Ayaz Khan, DYSSO Rajouri presented the welcome address, whereas the vote of thanks was presents by Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu.
Principal Govt HSS Domana, Ajit Kurmar Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Dr Swaran Singh, DYSSO, Reasi and DYSSO Jarpal Singh.
Later on, trophies and mementoes were presented by the chief guest and the guest of honour to the winners.
