Inter-village Dangal, Kabaddi competitions held

RAJOURI, Oct 6: Indian Army conducted an inter-village Dangal and Kabaddi competitions to promote local traditional sports amongst the youth from remote areas at Budhal, here today.
11 teams participated in the Kabaddi competition from the areas of Budhal, Draj, Banna, Kotranka, Tuli, Gota and Gabber of Rajouri and Reasi districts. The final match for the Kabaddi competition was played between the teams of Govt Higher Secondary School Gota and Govt Higher Secondary School Budhal, wherein the latter emerged as winner.
Meanwhile, Dangal competition saw 54 individuals participate in three weight categories of 50 to 60 kg, 60 to 70 kg and 70 to 80 kg from villages around Budhal. Both the competitions have always been a major attraction, where local villagers and schools cheer for their respective teams.
At the end of the competition, the winners and the runners up were felicitated with prizes. Prominent locals, village elders, Sarpanches and Panches expressed gratitude towards the Indian Army for promoting local traditional sporting events.
