Inter-school tournament of Akhnoor zone commences

JAMMU, Apr 21: Inter-school tournament of Akhnoor zone in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling Under-14 and Under-17 boys got underway at Government Higher Secondary School, here today.
The tournament is being held under the supervision of Sher Singh, zonal physical education officer, Akhnoor.
Deputy CEO Akhnoor was the chief guest on the occasion, while Principal HSS Akhnoor was the guest of honour.
In kabaddi Under-14 boys, St Francis HSS Akhnoor outplayed BMS Akhnoor by 19 points, while in kabaddi Under-17 boys, GMS Barut got better of HS Mare Madrian by 23 points in the first semifinal and HSS Narriwala prevailed over HSS Sohal by 21 points in another semifinal.
In Under-14 kho-kho, MS Daskal beat BMS Akhnoor by one innings and 53 points, while HS Chander Bhaga trounced Little Flower School by 10 points.
HS Kotli Tanda defeated HS Chander Bhaga in a close contest by one point to win the Under-17 boys kho-kho title.
In volleyball Under-17 boys, HS Chander Bhaga trounced HS Devipur by 2 points, while HS Barut outclassed HS Kot Ghari by 2 points.
