Inter-School Speedball Competition held Manthon, Amandeep duo wins gold in men’s doubles

JAMMU, Oct 12: The duo of Manthon Pandoh of Air Force School and Amandeep Singh of JP World School claimed gold in the men’s doubles event of the District Level Inter-School Under-19 boys Speedball Competition, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Guru Harkrishan Public School, here today.
The Competitions were held under the patronage of Naveen Aggarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports and under the chairmanship of Ved Prakash, Deputy Director YSS, Jammu. The matches were held under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, DYSSO, Jammu.
85 players drawn from various institutions took part in the competition to vie for the top honours.
Meanwhile, in Under-19 boys doubles, the silver medal went to Pratham Thakur of KC Gurukul and Pranay Gupta of the same school, while the bronze was claimed by Prajin Chopra of Heritage and Sidh Mahajan of the same school.
In girls doubles, Rhea Tikku of TSPS and Rushali of DHSS bagged gold, Avneet Kour and Simar Kour of GHKPS clinched silver and the bronze went to Anisha Chandel and Sonia Devi of DHSS.
In Super Solo for boys, Tarun Bandral of TTS, Ashwani Rao of SDTPS and Ritweek of KCPS claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in Super Solo for girls, the gold, silver and bronze went to Mradhima Gupta of TTS, Richen Angmao of DHSS and Preeti Manhas of DHSS.
In boys singles, Sahil Janjua, Suryansh and Aditya Awasthi claimed gold, silver and bronze, while in girls singles, Harvinder Kour, Janvi Sharma and Harmeet Kour claimed first three positions.
In mix doubles, Manav Jamwal and Shrea Sharma bagged gold, Sachita and Hardik Pandita won silver and the bronze was claimed by Amandeep Kour and Aryan Mehra.
In Relay team, Ankush Sharma, Aryan, Gurmanjeet and Anish of SD Tarapuri bagged gold, while Avneet Kour, Kartik, Samarjeet and Prabhmeet of GHKPS clinched silver and the bronze went to Shahid Ch, Mufasil Malik, Atif and Meena Kumar of New Model HSS.
School single team event gold was bagged by Sushant Sharma, Vidushi Singh, Arya Gupta and Sonam of Dogra HSS, while the silver in this event went to Ritik Manhas, Priya Sharma, Dushyant and Sugandh Mehta of TTHSS.
The matches were officiated by Sunny Nanda, Harvinder Kour, Anil Nanda, Raman Sharma, Anita Bhat, Rhea Tikku, Manik Sharma and Savita.
