JAMMU, Oct 10: Shemford Futuristic School Birpur organized an inter-school poem recitation competition under the aegis of Sahodaya School Complex Jammu chapter on the theme ‘Nature’, wherein 33 Sahodaya schools of Jammu region participated with great zeal and enthusiasm, here today.
Dr SP Vaid (Retd.) Director General of Police was the chief guest along with Sahodaya Core Committee Members including Dr KCS Mehta-Mentor JSSC, Principal IDPS Akhnoor; Kundan Lal Dogra- Secretary Finance JSSC, Principal MV International School; Ranju Malhotra- Secretary Media & Info JSSC, Principal DBN Amarvilla; Randeep Wazir- Joint Secretary JSSC, Principal IDPS and Bhupinder Singh Charak (Chairman SFS) were the prominent guests.
The competition was judged by eminent English Professors Ruth Masehi, HOD English Govt MAM College; Dr Chetana Gupta, Assistant Professor GDC Kathua and Sadaf Shah Department of English, University of Jammu.
The welcome address was presented by Sahrish Ismaily, Vice Principal Shemford Futuristic School.
Manvi Katal of Indian Public School Kathua bagged the 1st prize, while Divyanshi Singh of Rich Harvest School bagged the 2nd prize. Adamya Rajan of Sai International School Kathua won the 3rd prize. The Ist consolation prize was bagged by Bhavya Sharma Shemford Futuristic School Birpur, while Uday Vir Singh of Jodhamal Public School & Jasdeep Kour of Kartar Public School Kathua won 2nd and 3rd consolation prizes respectively. The vote of thanks was presented by Sushma Choudhary (HM Kindergarten).
The chief guest of the event expressed his immense surprise over the meticulous and diligent performance of the children. He further added, “Competition is not a fight rather competition is going deep inside to open the wings and fly in the deep high horizon of the sky and catch the success in their hands”.
Vijay Puri, Academic Director of the host School congratulated the participants and was excited to see the level of confidence and hard work of the students.
