JAMMU, May 8: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, continued the Inter School District Level Selection Trials cum Competitions for Under-14 and Under-17 girls at MA Stadium Jammu, witnessing enthusiastic participation from around 200 students representing various zones of the district.
A large number of technical officials, including Rohit Gupta as convenor along with Basant Ram, Rajeev Kumar, Raman Sharma, Rohit Sadotra, Atul Pangotra, Jatinder Kumar, Sunil Abrol, Ajay Paul Gill, Kamal Singh, Nitin Sharma, Tejinder Singh, Vishal Jamwal, Dhanraj Singh and others, ensured smooth conduct of the events. Multiple committees including Technical, Organising, Medical, Registration, Transport, Boarding & Lodging, Finance and Equipment Committees were constituted for efficient management.
In Karate (U-14 Girls), results were declared across various weight categories. In 26-30 kg, Ishani secured first position followed by Niharika. In 30-34 kg, Arsheen stood first and Rashi second. In 34-38 kg, Kanishka won first place and Ridhima second. In 38-42 kg, Rupali bagged first position while Samiti finished second. In 42-46 kg, Oriana secured first place followed by Anupama. In 46-50 kg, Parvinder stood first and Umika second. In above 50 kg, Tabassam won first position and Jayati second.
In Judo (U-14 Girls), Under 27 kg category saw Anshika securing first position and Arvi Malhotra second. In Under 32 kg, Nita stood first followed by Kritika. In Under 36 kg, Anita claimed first position while Kritika finished second. In Under 40 kg, Praya Choudhary secured first place and Sonakshi second. In Under 44 kg, Anugraha stood first and Humaira second. In Above 44 kg category, Gayatri Bhat secured first position followed by Sara Ali Khan. The trials provided a strong platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and progress towards higher-level competitions.
