BARAMULLA, June 4: An Inter school debate competition was held at Thimayya Hall by 46 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of Army in Baramulla town under the aegis of Chinar corps.
The competition was held as part of the week long ‘Hafta-e-Hunar’ inter school cultural festival.
The event witnessed participation of students from various schools in and around Baramulla giving their views on the most relevant topic in today’s internet based era i.e ‘Net Neutrality.
A total of 18 students participated in the event of which nine spoke in favor of the motion & balance nine spoke against the motion. The teams got an overwhelming response from the audience of around 350 students.
The children were enthusiastic in giving their views and displayed a deep understanding of the topic.
The event was aimed to give an impetus to the bright and energetic students of Kashmir and inculcate in them a spirit of competitiveness and confidence.
At the end of the event, Major General Raj Shukla, GOC Dagger Division expressed his views on net neutrality and further encouraged the students to participate more actively in co-curricular activities besides academics.
All the participants were felicitated by the GOC and final winners and runners-up will be declared on June 6 at the culmination of week-long event “Hafta-e-Hunar”.
