JAMMU, Aug 6: An inter-school poem recitation competition was organised by Jammu Sanskriti School, here today.
The program was inaugurated by the dignitaries including Director Operations Sunakshi Anand, Vice-Principal Avneet Kaur, Headmistress Prabhjotkour, Superintendent of Curriculum and Instructions, Varuna Mangotra, Principal Kindergarten Nidhi Kohli and Administrative Officer Tarmeet Kour with lighting the lamp.
The event began with a mesmerising welcome dance, followed by a welcome address given by little Sanskritians Vaideesha, Amogh and Saksham. The participants of different schools showcased their theatrical skills through impeccable dramas and presented rhythmic poems. All the participants were very enthusiastic and exuberant to perform in the event.
Ajay Pal Singh (Theatre and Film Artist), Gauri Thakur (Theatre Director and Actor), Suman Devi (Senior Teacher, Sunrise Higher Secondary School) and Radhika Gupta (Former CCA Coordinator Banyan International School) graced the event as judges for the competition.
About 15 schools participated in the event.
Gauri Thakur cheered participants for their amazing performances, while Principal cum Vice Chairperson, Rohini Aima congratulated and conveyed her wishes for the event. Vice- Principal of the host School, Avneet Kaur also shared her kind words with everyone.
Ajay Paul Singh Andotra appreciated JSS for organising such a wonderful event. He also applauded the teachers for mentoring the participants.
Winners of poem recitation were Sarth Kuhkiar from APS Nagrota bagged Ist prize, 2nd prize was shared by Suditi Sharma from Banyan International School and Manairashree from Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua and 3rd prize was also shared by Quratb-Al- Aiyan Fatima from IDPS and Samaira Attri from APS Kaluchak, besides consolation prize was given to Khivi Singh from Doon International School.
