JAMMU, Aug 21: J&K Rural Sports Club (NGO) organized an Inter-School Chess competition at Shiksha Niketan School, here.
The participating Schools included RM Public School, Shiksha Niketan School Gandhi Nagar and Shiksha Niketan School Jeevan Nagar.
24 students in the age groups of under-10, 14 and 18 took part in the competition.
The event was held under the supervision of President Narender Singh and various sports teachers of Shiksha Niketan School. The main aim of this competition was to boost the mental ability of the students. – Samrath of RMPS won under-10 title, while the Under-14 title went to Raghav of RMPS and Under-18 event was won by Gurjot Singh of Jeevan Nagar.
In Under-10 Girls, Divya Manhas of Gandhi Nagar won the title, while in Under-14 Aastha of SNS and in Under-18, Akansha of Jeevan Nagar claimed the titles.
Nirmal Sharma, the main Incharge of Shiksha Niketan School lauded the effort of the players for good show..
Rameshwar Mengi, Principal of the institution lauded the efforts of the students and teachers for holding the event in befitting manner.
