JAMMU, Sept 21: State Level inter-Division competitions in Judo, Sqay Martial Art and Hupkwando got underway at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, while Inter-School Athletic Meet for girls commenced at BSF Stadium, Paloura. Here today.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of its Director, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed and under the chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director, Jammu.
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by Chanchal Kour, District Youth Services and Sports, Officer Jammu in a simple and well attended function.
The main objective of these competitions is to select the teams in these disciplines for the upcoming competitions.
Meanwhile, in District Level Inter-School Athletic Meet held at BSF Stadium, Paloura, 742 students from Private and Govt. Institutions of District Jammu are taking part.
The events held on day-1 included Triple Jump, High Jump, Javelin Throw, 3000 Meters, 800 meters, 400 meters and 100 meter sprint.
The main objective of these competitions is to select the teams in these disciplines for the forthcoming competitions.
