JAMMU, Feb 13: Department of Youth Services and Sports held Inter-District UT level Athletics Meet for girls under-14, 17 and 19 years at Jammu University Ground, here today.
The championship was organised under the chairmanship of DG YSS, Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman, and the overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma wherein about 320 participants of 16 District of J&K UT are participating in this mega event.
The certificates and medals were distributed among participants by DG YSS in the presence of Joint Director Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad.
The selection committee members were deputed by Directorate of Youth Services and Sports were also present at the venue for selection of best Athletes for next level of competition.
In under-19 years, Tanvi Kohli of District Reasi, Sakshi Devi of District Jammu and Hurmah Shah of District Srinagar got first top three positions respectively in 100 mtrs, whereas in 800 mtrs, Anshu Rani of District Udhampur bagged 1st place, whereas Shivani Thakur of District Reasi and Jetun of District Kathua bagged 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In Discus Throw, Tania Kumari of District Jammu, Madhumati of District Kathua and Misba of District Kulgam clinched top three positions respectively, whereas in High Jump, Manvi Katal of District Jammu, Sonai Katal of District Samba and Toiba Salam of District Kulgam secured first top three positions respectively.
In 400 mtrs relay, Anshu Rani of District Udhampur and Simran Sharma of District Udhampur, Neelam Akthar of District Udhampur and Shilpa Devi of District Udhampur shared 1st position, whereas Sonai Choudhary of District Jammu, Pragatee Abrol of District Jammu and Suneha Sharma of District Jammu shared 2nd position and Pooja Devi of District Jammu, Shahena Iqbal of District Kulgam, Muskan Iqbal of District Kulgam, Umera Rashid of District Kulgam and Iqra Yaseen of District Kulgam shared 3rd positions.
In under 17 years, Simran of District Kathua, Ayushi of District Jammu and Muskan of District Srinagar secured top three positions respectively in 100 mtrs, whereas in 800 mtrs, top three places were secured by Tanu Devi of District Udhampur, Keenu Devi of District Kathua and Muskan Gulzar of District Ganderbal respectively and in Discus Throw, Ritika of District Samba, Mehak Afzal of District Bandipora and Reeba of District Ramban clinched first three positions respectively besides in High Jump, Salma of District Kathua, Muskan of District Kulgam and Veena Akthar of District Udhampur bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In 400 mtrs relay, Rinki Tomar of District Jammu, Vaishali Thakur of District Jammu, Parveen of District Jammu and Riya of District Jammu shared 1st position, whereas Simran Devi of District Doda, Mehak of District Doda, Nancy of District Doda and Priyashu of District Doda shared 2nd position and 3rd position was shared by Nasreena Bano, Mehak, Abida Mohudin and Arzeena of District Bandipora.
In under 14 years, Muskan Devi of District Samba, Surishti Khajuria of District Kathua and Haiqa Banday of District Poonch bagged top three positions respectively in 600 mtrs, whereas Jyoti Devi of District Udhampur, Radhu Devi of District Reasi and Parveen Akhtar of District Poonch also clinched top three positions in 60 mtrs category and in Discus Throw, Nisha Sharma of District Jammu, Aanavi Singh of District Samba and Sadia Aayaz of District Poonch succeeded to win top three positions respectively besides in high jump, 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were clinched by Pratha Chib of District Jammu, Chhavi Raina of District Kishtwar and Kajal of District Samba respectively.
