JAMMU, Dec 12: The Inter- Collegiate Table Tennis (Men &Women) 2013-14 Final Matches in Men and Women Sections were played today at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, here today.
In the men section first semi final match, GDC Udhampur beat GDC Paloura by 3-0, while in second semi final match MIET college beat SPMR College of Commerce by 3 – 0.
And in Final Match: MIET college prevailed over Government Degree College Udhampur by 3-2; Abhishek Arora lost to Ankit Sharma by 6-11,8-11,11-9,11-2, 7-11, Sumit Mahajan beat Rohit Sharma 11-7.11-8.11-3, Kanav Sharma prevailed over Aakashdeep by 11-9, 11-8, 7-11, 11-3, Sumit Lost to Ankit Sharma by 14-12, 4-11, 8-11, 6-11, and Abhishek Arora beat Rohit by 11-2, 14-12, 11-6.
In Women Section, first Semi Final Match PG Department beat SPMR College of Commerce by 3-1, while in second Semi Final Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar beat GGM Sc. College by 3-2.
Sangeeta Bhat lost to Neha Sharma 6-11, 6-11, Nitani Bakshi beat Urvashi 11-5, 11-1, Divya Lost to Shavi by 8-11, 12-10, 10-12, Nitani Bakshi beat Neha Sharma 11-2, 11-4, Sangeeta beat Urvashi by 11-1, 12-14, 11-4.
All the matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Gourav Sharma, Rekha Ratra.
In the final matches of the Inter-Collegiate Table – Tennis (Men & Women) tournament 2013-14 Prof Keshav Sharma, Controller of Examinations, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion and he awarded trophies to the Winning teams of the Tournament of Men and Women Section.
Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu presided over the function. The tournament was organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Other prominent persons present on the occasion were Raj Kumar Bakshi, Cricket Coach, Sanjeev Jamwal, Nisha Sharma, Gagan Kumar, Vikash Karlopia, Bikram Singh, P D Singh and Jai Bharat.
