JAMMU, Sept 11: The Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi (Women) Tournament 2019 got underway at Jammu University, here today.
The Tournament was declared open by Dr Majid Jahangir in the presence of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu.
In his address, he appreciated the efforts of the University of Jammu in organizing such events.
He also emphasized on promotion of Rural Games particularly in Women Section. He also promised to support University of Jammu in organizing such mega events.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Suman Lata, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Romesh Chander, Gautam Sharma, Sonu Mehra, Ravi Kumar, Dr Pinki Sharma, Jai Bharat and Mukesh Sharma.
In today’s matches, GCW Parade beat GDC Kathua by 17 points (30-13); GDC Billawar defeated GDC Mishriwala by 20 points (24-04); GDC Hiranagar trounced GDC Khour by 12 points (33-21) and GDC Ramnagar outplayed Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur by 1 point (40-39)
The match officials included Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Ankush Gupta, Dheeraj Sharma, Keshav Sigh, Harpreet Singh, Amandeep Singh and Gagan Kumar.
