JAMMU, Oct 11: On the third day of Inter-Collegiate Chess (M&W) Championship 2023-24, GDC Kathua beat GDC Udhampur by (4-0) points, Post Graduate Department Jammu University beat GDC Paloura by (3-1) points, GDC Nowshera beat GDC Billawar by (3-1) points, GDC Bhaderwah beat GDC Reasi by (3-1) points, GDC MIET Jammu beat MIER Jammu by (4-0) points, GDC Gaghwal beat Dogra Degree College by (2.5-1.5) points, GDC Poonch beat GMC Rajouri by (3-1) points and GCET Jammu beat GDC Vijaypur by (4-0) points in men’s section.
While in women’s section; Post Graduate Department Jammu University beat GDC Basohli by (4-0) points, GDC Ramnagar beat GCW Bhagwati Nagar by (4-0) points, GDC Poonch defeated GDC Rajouri by (4-0) points and GCW Udhampur beat GMC Vijaypur by (4-0) points.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba Director Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu and officiated by S. P Sharma, Sushil Sawhney, Inderjeet Singh and Padam Dev Singh.
Meanwhile, Inter-Collegiate Women Volleyball pre-quarterfinal matches were also held in which Post Graduate Department of Jammu University beat GDC Ramkote by (2-0) set score (25-12, 25-11), GDC Poonch beat GDC Akhnoor by (2-0) set score (25-14, 25-19), GDC Pouni beat GCW Udhampur by (2-1) set score (25-23, 22-25, 25-12), GDC Ramnagar beat GDC Vijapur by (2-0) set score ( 25-4, 25-04), GCW Parade beat GCW Kathua by (2-0) set score (25-8, 25-09).
In the 2nd match between GDC Reasi and GCW Udhampur, GCW won the match by (2-0) set score i.e. 25-13, 25-18. The matches were officiated by Mulkh Raj, Amit Sharma, Shubham, Anil, Buneet Singh and Manu Singh Pawar.
